Following last season’s launch of A Little Shakespeare with a sold out run of As You Like It, we bring you one of Shakespeare’s most famous, magical and romantic comedies— performed in just 90 minutes by a cast of area high school students.

Jonathon Ahl (Flute) is excited to perform in the production of A Little Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Recent performances include productions of Brighton Beach Memoirs, Cabaret, and The Diamond as Big as the Ritz at Middletown High School South. This will be his first time performing in a Shakespearean play.
Sanjana Akula (Hermia) is excited to debut in her first out-of-school performance with Two River Theater. Some of her recent lead roles include Wendy Darling in Peter Pan the Musical as well as Mrs. Mann in Oliver Twist. Sanjana is a freshman at Biotechnology High School where she is a member of the theater club and choir. She is also performing in BTHS' production of Annie, where she sings a solo as Star-to-Be and plays Connie Boylan and Annette. An advocate for animal rights, she is the youth-division president, volunteer, and event coordinator at Rose's Fund, a non-profit organization. She has also contacted congressmen such as Frank Pallone in order to pass a bill concerning the banning of puppy mills. Both an alternative and South-Indian classical Carnatic singer, she has arranged a benefit concert which is to take place this coming May in order to support her sangeetham teacher's medical costs.
Myles Columbo (Demetrius) is overjoyed to be returning to Two River Theater. He had the honor of playing Jaques in last year’s A Little Shakespeare: As You Like It. Some of his past credits include Oberon in his high school’s production of A Midsummer’s Night Dream and Joly in The Les Amis Vlog Project on YouTube. He is currently a senior at Biotechnology High School, and this year he will be directing his school's production of Annie. Myles is a transgender man and was interviewed last year for the Tri City News’s Rainbow Room. He hopes to encourage other transgender people to get involved in theater.
Kaylee DeFreitas (Egeus) is ecstatic and honored to be performing in her first show at Two River Theater. Some community theater productions she has done include Romeo and Juliet, Little Shop of Horrors, and Chicago. She is a sophomore actor in the FPAC program at Howell High School. She thanks her mom and dad for showing her the world and always supporting her in her acting endeavors.
Raquel Diaz (Titania) is delighted to once again be a part of Two River Theater's A Little Shakespeare cast. Last year, she had the role of Celia in As You Like It. She is a senior drama major in the Visual and Performing Arts Academy at Red Bank Regional High School. Some roles she has played include Marvalyn /Sandrine in Almost Maine and The Police officer in Tartuffe. She also enjoys directing as she did with Almost Maine at her school. Raquel hopes to continue to be involved theater arts while in college next year. She wishes the rest of the cast and crew in Mid-Summer to knock 'em dead throughout the performances!
Maeve Gearty (Fairy) has been dancing since she was 2. She participated in, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, The Nutcracker and many more productions. She is very excited to be cast as a Fairy in this production. Maeve has been singing and dancing almost all her life, so it is an amazing opportunity to add more theater to the mix. She would like to thank everyone who has had a part in her casting and the adventure within Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream!
Tess Hintelmann (Fairy) is excited to make her debut with Two River Theater. Favorite credits include “Alice” in Alice in Wonderland with Matthews Playhouse, Music Man and Damn Yankees with Phoenix Productions, and Flat Stanley with Fullwood Theatre. She is in the new web series Redheads Anonymous, True Crime with NBC, and many indie films including one with Pennant Films. She is currently a 7th grader at Markham Place Middle School. She dances on the performance team at Dance Plus. Tess would like to thank Jason and Kate for this wonderful opportunity! Best wishes to our cast and crew!
Cristina Medlin (Starveling) is a Colts Neck High School junior. Professional leg wrestler. Monmouth County celebrity. Starred (not really) in CNHS’s Sweeney Todd and won the “Most Realistic Acting” award. Portrayed the feral boy in Two River Theater’s The Ghost’s Bargain. That’s pretty much it. Cristina’s a very busy diplomat.
Patrick Monaghan (Bottom) is a junior at Red Bank Regional High School where he is a drama major. Previous roles of his include Orlando in As You Like It, Valere in Tartuffe, and Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing. He is very excited to be playing the hopefully hilarious Bottom in his second A Little Shakespeare production at Two River Theater. Good luck and many thanks to everyone involved.
Emma Mueller (Snout) has been performing since she was old enough to talk, whether it be in ballet slippers, in school productions, or on the boardwalk with her guitar. She is enthralled to be making her Two River Theater debut in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Emma’s on-stage experience includes being part of the casts of Seussical, Alice in Wonderland, High School Musical and other productions. Emma is currently an intern in Two River Theater's Metro Scholar program. She's also the Costume Manager in the production of Annie at Biotechnology High School, where she serves as co-president of the school’s Arts & Entertainment Club. Jordan Owens (Thesues) is excited to be performing in his first big production with the major role as King Theseus. He is a senior at St. Mary of the Assumption High School. His hobbies include making music, playing instruments, acting and singing. He has acted in smaller plays such as If I Could In My Hood, I Would, and has done stage work for various plays like The Boys Next Door and Oedipus the King.
Max Portman (Lysander) is 15 years old and currently attends Red Bank Regional High School. His previous roles include Borachio in Much Ado About Nothing as well as Benedick. He has also played Posthumous in Cymbeline, Michael Darling in Peter Pan, Hortensio in The Taming of the Shrew, and Orlando in As You Like It. While not acting, Max thoroughly enjoys Quentin Tarantino movies, sushi and Led Zeppelin. This is Max’s first role in a Two River Theater production. He would like to thank the entire cast and crew for this exorbitant opportunity.
Alyssa Rogers (Peter Quince) is extremely excited to be a part of another production at Two River Theater. Alyssa has been a part of many productions at her high school, Red Bank Regional. Recently, she has been involved in Two River Theater's production of " A little Shakespeare: As You Like It" (Duke Senior) and Red Bank Regional's Production of "Much Ado About Nothing" (Ursula). Alyssa is a 12th grader at Red Bank Regional High School where she majors in Drama. Alyssa plans to attend University College Dublin in the fall where she will major in English with Drama.
Christina Ruivivar (Puck) is thrilled to be a part of A Little Shakespeare at Two River Theater! She is a junior acting major at Howell High School's Fine & Performing Arts Center (FPAC). Favorite past credits include Marcy Park in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Meg March in Little Women. She is also a member of the Paper Mill Playhouse Broadway Show Choir. Lots of love and thanks to her family, friends, teachers, and the incredible cast/crew of Midsummer!

Julian Sarin (Fairy) is excited to return to the Two River Theater, where he had his stage debut in HONK! He has since appeared in The Stone Church Players’ Our Town and Jesus Christ Superstar. He under studied for two roles in Soldier’s Heart at Premier Stages, and was part of the ensemble for Phoenix Productions’ staging of Music Man. He has also enjoyed appearing in the following school productions of Bye Bye Birdie, Peter Pan, and Sound of Music. He has provided spoken word and singing for audio books at CityVox. He continues to study guitar, sing, and enjoy an 11-year-old’s lifestyle. Elizabeth Sayko (Helena) is thrilled to be returning to the Two River Theater: A Little Shakespeare stage. Her past performance includes last year’s production of As You Like It where she played Oliver. Some recent/favorite roles include Anatomy of Gray (June Muldoon), A Midsummer Jersey (Mustardseed) and The Odd Couple: Female Version (Florence). Elizabeth attends Howell High School and is a Senior in the FPAC (Freehold Performing Arts Academy) program, where she has studied the Meisner technique, stage combat, musical theatre, ballet, jazz, vocal lessons, and chorus for 4 years.
Jolie Shave (Hippolyta) is a sophomore at Holmdel High School and is excited to be performing in her first production at Two River Theater. She has been involved in other productions throughout her high school career including 'How The Other Half Dies' and 'George Washington Slept Here.' She typically gravitates toward writing and reciting poetry, drawing, and painting. However, she looks forward to finding her place within the acting community and hopes to find her way back into Two River Theater in the future. She would like to thank her mom for encouraging her to pursue the things that make her happy, even when the odds may be against her.
Isabel Wallace (Snug) is delighted to be back for her second year with the A Little Shakespeare family. Favorite credits include The 39 Steps at Stagedoor Manor, Release Point at NJRep, and Melissa Arctic at TRTC. She also appeared as Adam in last year’s A Little Shakespeare production of As You Like It. Isabel is a sophomore at Biotechnology High School and spends her free time singing, playing tennis, and summers at Stagedoor Manor. She would like to thank her parents and BTHS for all the support through all of her endeavors.
Director and Adaptor
Jason McDowell-Green is the Director of the Professional Training Program at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. Recent work has been seen with The Old Globe Theater, Roundabout Theatre Company, The Huntington Theater, The Guthrie Theater, Two River Theater, and the Atlantic Theatre School. He is an alumnus of The Acting Company where he toured for two years with productions of Romeo and Juliet and The Comedy of Errors. His production of Be The Dog (adapted from How We Are Hungry by Dave Eggers) played to sold-out audiences at the New York International Fringe Festival. His training comes from Boston University, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, and A.C.T.
