Written by the rising young playwright Tony Meneses, the play is a deeply moving and very funny celebration of life, new beginnings, and the healing power of telenovelas.

Deonna Bouye (Raquel) is delighted to be making her Two River Theater debut. Her New York appearances include Ars Nova, Playwrights Horizons, The Lark Theater, Atlantic Theater Company, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Project Y Theatre, Ugly Rhino Productions, The People’s Improv Theater (The PIT) and Page 73. Alfredo Huereca


Alfredo Huereca (Roberto) is an actor and the founder of Bridge Playhouse. He has produced and starred in the following stage productions: Cayendo con Victoriano (Off-Broadway), Muerte Subita (Off-Off-Broadway), SOLO (Miami-Dade County Auditorium), and Cadena Perpetua (Microtheatre, Miami), a play he also wrote and directed. Other New York theater credits include: La Cena, Caprichos (IATI); Blood Wedding, Life Is a Dream, Mojiganga, Innocent Erendira, Dominican Serenade (Repertorio Espanol), One Hour Without Television (Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre), Papa (Lincoln Center), Death of the Mind (HERE Arts Center), Venus of Lespugue (Tribeca Performing Arts). He received Best Actor recognition by the Latin-ACE and HOLA (Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors) in 1998, 2011, 2012 and 2013, among many other honors for his performances. Television audiences voted him Best Supporting Actor on a Soap Opera in Venezuela, 2014, for his participation in Cosita Linda. He has written a film adaptation of his play, Cadena Perpetua, which will soon go into production. Guadalupe in the Guestroom marks his debut at Two River Theater.

Socorro Santiago
Socorro Santiago


Socorro Santiago (Guadalupe) is thrilled to be at Two River Theater (debut)! She has performed on Broadway in The Bacchae (Circle in the Square) and Off-Broadway at the 59E59 Theaters, LARK, Ensemble Studio Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop, The Public Theater, Naked Angels, Ohio theatre, HERE, La MaMa and INTAR, where she recently performed in Jose Rivera’s Adoration of the Old Woman. She is also working with Jose Rivera on his play Another Word for Beauty, an ongoing project that was recently seen at the Goodman Theatre (director Steve Cosson). She just returned from the Denver Center for the Performing Arts where she worked on Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. At the Sundance Theatre Lab, she worked on Matthew Paul Olmos’ So Go the Ghosts of Mexico Part II; The Good Book by Denis O’Hare and Lisa Peterson; and with Quiara Alegria Hudes (winner of the 2012 Pulitzer Prize) on the musical adaptation of Like Water for Chocolate. Regional credits include the world premiere of Luis Alfaro’s Mojada, directed by Chay Yew at Chicago’s Victory Gardens Theatre; and Long Wharf Theatre’s productions of Macbeth 1969, adapted by Eric Ting, and John Patrick Shanley’s Italian American Reconciliation, directed by Eric Ting. Socorro earned an Independent Reviewers of New England actress nomination for her role in Boleros for the Disenchanted by Jose Rivera at the Huntington Theatre. Film credits include The Other Woman, Ornament of Faith, Order of Redemption, All Good Things, and Freedomland, among many. Numerous television appearances include Blue Bloods, The Good Wife, Unforgettable, Bored to Death, Third Watch, and all the Law & Orders. She received an American Latino Media Arts (ALMA) Award for her work as Isabella Santos on All My Children.

Charles Socarides (Steve) is thrilled to be making his Two River debut. Recent credits include John Logan’s Red opposite Tim Daly at Dorset Theatre Festival, Twelfth Night with Pig Iron Theatre and the indie film Bad Hurt. New York credits include Sons of the Prophet, The Marriage of Bette and Boo (both with Roundabout); Trust (Second Stage); Indian Blood (Primary Stages); The Rise and Fall of Annie Hall (Stage 13); Awake and Sing! Tony Meneses


Tony Meneses (Playwright) is absolutely excited to be working with Two River on this World-Premiere production, and is looking forward to working together more on his current new play commission! Previous productions include Las Hermanas Padilla through Chicago’s DCA Storefront Theatre and The Boy in Black through Chicago Fusion Theatre. He is currently a 2015/2016 Ars Nova Play Group Resident Playwright and a 2014/2015 Playwrights Realm Writing Fellow, and his work has been previously developed at Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Claque, and the LARK Playwrights’ Week. He is the recipient of The Kennedy Center ACTF Latino Playwriting Award and was a finalist for the National Latino Playwriting Award. Alumni: Youngblood at the Ensemble Studio Theatre. MFA: Iowa Playwrights Workshop. BA: The University of Texas at Austin.

Marion Williams (Set Designer) is pleased to be returning to Two River, where she designed the scenery and costumes for Barefoot in the Park and ReEntry as well as the scenery for The Glass Menagerie and the costumes for 26 Miles. Erin Hicks

Wig Designer

Erin Hicks (Wig Designer) was born in New York City and grew up in Harlem. Her love for hairstyling began when she was a high school junior and was offered a job working as a hair assistant on The Winter’s Tale at the New York Shakespeare Festival, starring Alfre Woodard, Mandy Patinkin, and Diane Venora. She continued onto other shows working with such talents as Gloria Foster, Helen Hunt, Don Cheadle and Morgan Freeman. By the time she left NYSF she was Supervisor of the hit Broadway show Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk. Over the last 20 years she has worked on various Broadway, film and TV shows such as Cyrano, Ragtime, Fosse, A Christmas Carol, Beauty & the Beast, The Lion King, The Sopranos, NY Minute, Rescue Me, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Law Abiding Citizen, The Lovely Bones, The Bounty Hunter, Gravity, Madea's Big Happy Family, Are We There Yet, Don’t Trust the B* In Apt. 23, Elementary. She has held the position of Department Head Hair on The Architect, Ira & Abby, Shame, Begin Again, The Angriest Man in Brooklyn, That Awkward Moment, Black Nativity, The Cobbler, Friends of the People. Erin had the great opportunity to style the hair of Keira Knightley, Mila Kunis, Carey Mulligan, Diahann Carroll, Angela Bassett, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Nicole Beharie, Telma Hopkins, Adam Sandler, Michael Fassbender, Zac Efron, Mos Def, and Bill Bellamy to name a few.

J. Steven White

Fight Director

J. Steven White (Fight Director) is pleased to return to Two River (where he previously fight directed Camelot, On Borrowed Time and As You Like It) and to be working again with his former colleagues from productions at The Public Theater, where his fight work has been seen in 22 shows including Julius Caesar, The Taming of the Shrew, Macbeth, King Lear, A Language of Their Own, and Cymbeline with Liev Schreiber and Michael C. Hall, whom Mr. White trained at NYU Graduate Acting. Broadway credits include The Pillowman, Bombay Dreams, Uncle Vanya, A View from the Bridge, Golden Child, The Lion in Winter, All My Sons, as well as Shogun: The Musical (Assistant Director). His fights have been seen on the stages of every major New York theater including MTC, CSC, Playwrights Horizons, Roundabout, and the Irish Repertory Theatre. He has worked at McCarter on six productions including The Convert most recently. Mr. White spent 11 seasons at American Conservatory Theater, where he began his teaching career 43 years ago. He is on the faculties of the Stella Adler Studio and the Graduate Acting Program at NYU-Tisch. He wants to go on record that he is in love with Red Bank and the Jersey Shore.

Rosie Berrido

Dialect Coach

Rosie Berrido (Dialect Coach) is a native New Yorker of Hispanic parents. A graduate of the School for Film and Television and NYU, she is a bilingual coach and audiobook narrator for the Library of Congress. Her clients include actors that have made appearances on Law & Order, Blue Bloods, What Would You Do?, POWER, The Bridge, Mountain Dew campaigns, A Bicycle Country, and numerous independent films, as well as business professionals and journalists for, Latina Magazine, HBO Latino. Rosie also prepares acting students for admissions audition to colleges in the US. She is best known for having translated and adapted to the Spanish language John Leguizamo’s Broadway hit Ghetto Klown (for his Latin-American tour 2012-2013) and she still coaches for Mr. Leguizamo’s production company. As an actress she is the recipient of 6 HOLA awards, a NY State Citation Award and the Pan-Pacific Film Award (Best actress in a Drama), and she has appeared in over 75 theater productions in English and Spanish in New York and abroad. She is currently an active member of the Spanish Repertory Theater in New York City and a member of the Broadways Leagues’ VIVA Broadway initiative. Rosie is the Owner and Founder of Rosie’s - Bilingual acting and diction coaching in the Tri-State area.
