A Little Shakespeare
A Little Shakespeare: The Comedy of Errors
March 6-11, 2018
Adapted and Directed by Sara Holdren
Joan and Robert Rechnitz Theater
"A Little Shakespeare is totally unique. It takes something that so many kids assume they will never understand, the language of Shakespeare, and makes it into something amazing, relatable, and definitely understandable." - A Little Shakespeare actor
Celebrating its 5th season as one of Two River’s most popular programs, A Little Shakespeare engages young artists and audiences alike with the work of the Bard. Two sets of identical twins, separated at birth + several cases of mistaken identity = hijinks ensue in Shakespeare’s great comedy! Last season, 28 students from 12 area high schools participated in this theatrical adventure. Don’t miss seeing the madcap magic our local youth create this year under the guidance of a team of professional artists.
CALL FOR BEHIND THE SCENES
For all interested assistant stage managers, directors, designers, and run crew, send an email telling us all about yourself and your experience to Education Assistant Amanda Espinoza at firstname.lastname@example.org by Dec. 1 and we’ll contact you for an interview
- Director We will need one high school student to assist our director throughout the rehearsal process and performances. Students who have an interest in directing and who want to learn more about it should apply. Shadow a professional director from beginning to end.
- Stage Managers We are looking for 1-2 assistant stage manager(s). Enhance your skills as an organized and professional stage manager as you work with the director and cast throughout the rehearsal process to bring the show to life. Great learning opportunity to shadow a professional stage manager.
- Designers We are looking for assistants for each designer (Costumes, Lighting, Set, Sound, and Props). If you are interested in any areas of technical theater, you could have the opportunity to assist a professional designer in translating the director’s vision to the stage; time commitment starts later in the rehearsal process.
- Run Crew We will need responsible, organized people to work backstage during technical rehearsals and performances, helping with scenery, costume changes, and more; time commitment starts later in the rehearsal process.
