Grades 9-12

High School Intensives                                Full Day -Take 1, 2, or 3 weeks!

We had such a blast with our new High School Master Class format last summer – we decided to expand the program!  Students can choose between one, two and three weeks of intensive workshops that give an in-depth look at the elements of theater, led and taught by top theater professionals. Activities are structured both for young people who return to our theater camp year after year, and those who are attending for the first time.

Please note: New and returning teaching artists + new and returning students = a unique opportunity for young people interested in all different aspects of theater.

The “master class” structure of these three weeks invites young people with all levels of experience.

Musical Theater Intensive
Experience the art of collaboration that goes into musical theater creation and performance.  Spend a week training with vocal coaches, taking master classes in choreography, dance, acting a song, choosing audition material, audition technique, and more. Check back often for updates on Master Class teachers – we pull our teaching artists from the cream of the crop in the professional musical theater world!

Theater Inside/Out

Our most versatile high school program: we will choose from a smorgasbord of subjects, depending on the theater professionals we hire. Master Classes may include up to eight of the following topics: stage combat, commedia, playwriting, set design, physical theater, mask work, puppetry, creating solo work, directing, devising theater, improv, costumes, stage management – the sky’s the limit! By the end of this week, students will have experienced a variety of key elements in the world of theater, taught by experts in each element, and will have worked with some of the most exciting teaching artists in the professional theater world today.

Shakespeare Intensive

It’s no secret that Two River Theater engages the country’s top artists on our stage, from classical to contemporary work. This week you will train alongside classical artists to bring this universal writer’s text to life. Master classes will include vocal and movement training, the ins and outs of prose and verse, dramatic and comedic scene work, and character development. Learn Shakespeare the way it was intended, through performance! Check back often for staffing updates.
